Peter Stotland
Dr. Stotland is the Chief of Surgery and Program Co-Medical Director, Surgery at North York General Hospital.
He graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto in 2002. While a resident in general surgery at the University of Toronto, Dr. Stotland was the recipient of many local and national teaching awards, including the Canadian Association of General Surgeons Best Resident Teacher Award. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2007. After a combined fellowship in general surgical oncology and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Toronto, he began a clinical staff appointment at Sunnybrook Hospital. He is currently an attending surgeon at North York General Hospital and clinical associate at Sunnybrook Hospital.
His clinical practice is focused on the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies and the implementation of minimally invasive techniques. His academic interest is medical student and resident teaching.
