Presently, this is a 2-year General Thoracic Surgical Training experience leading to eligibility for accreditation in General Thoracic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.  The applicant wishing to take these exams should note the pre-requisites required prior to the one year of senior General Thoracic Surgery training.

You are required to participate in clinical research projects.

Unique programs include our ITSS Program (Interventional Thoracic Surgical Suite) where we perform EBUS and other innovative endoscopic procedures, Pulmonary Endarterectomy Program, Mesothelioma Program and Lung Volume Reduction Program.  For more detailed information on our programs please click here (2.0 – About Thoracic Surgery Link)

The selection of residents usually takes place in February for the following year.  The application deadline is February 1st in the year prior to beginning training.  On March 1st candidates are notified of their acceptance and have until March 7th to finalize their decision.
